I read about how amazing the flower in Carrizo National Monument would be this year in the L.A. Times.
So Marv and I packed into the Tesla and off we went. It was EVERYTHING they said it would be.But next time let's take the FJ, because we were lucky the Tesla low profile tires made it out without a flat!

We planned a very full day in the Mojave National Preserve starting with, * Mary Beal Nature hike. * Mitchell Caverns. * The Hole In The Wall ring's hike. * The Lava Tubes. We made it to all of them, but just made it to the Lava Tubes before dark.

We headed out on a very long day to hit ALL of these sites! * Mary Beal Nature hike. * Mitchell Caverns. * The Hole In The Wall ring's hike. * The Lava Tubes. Mitchell Caverns in the Mojave National Preserve. It has been closed for 7 years and just opened. Only 28 people a day are allowed in, and only three days a week.
