Waterfalls

My affinity for waterfalls, and the enchanting mist they create, has been a lifelong love affair. There's something truly magical about the sound and movement of running water. In the midst of El Nino in 2016, we embarked on an adventurous journey to hike to the 22 best waterfalls in the L.A area. It was an experience filled with both excitement and awe. Over the years, I've been fortunate to witness the beauty of falls in Yosemite, the breathtaking cascades in Hawaii, and the iconic Niagara Falls from my childhood. Anticipating more hiking adventures, I eagerly look forward to discovering and experiencing the wonders of many more waterfalls.

We checked out the amazing waterfalls on Lake Jocassee! They are as good as they say they are, and such clear water. If you get the chance to go there, get in the water!!! We payed for a private 3 hour tour to visit the waterfalls on Lake Jocassee! It was an amazing July day, and the waterfalls were amazing. Join us on our short trip.

Santa Paula Canyon Trail to the falls

Oct 6th, 2021

Yesterday we drove to a trail called Santa Paula Canyon Trail, about an hours drive, not knowing for sure if it was open. It had been closed. It was open and we hiked almost 7 miles round trip to get up to the waterfall. It took some aggressive rock scrambling but well worth it! I added a picture of how it flows in the winter, worth a return hike to see it!

Enjoyed a beautiful hike today out to Trail Canyon Falls to see what Tuesday's rains did to the waterfall. Not as much rain as we hoped for but still just amazing!

Nojoqui Falls

May 19th, 2017

We had our eye on four hikes in one day in the Santa Barbara area. The Gaviota Wind Caves, the Gaviota Hot Springs, the Nojoqui Falls, and Lizard Rock. This is our hike to Nojoqui Falls. The falls were not running that well and the hike was not that long, but they are very very high indeed.

Trail Canyon Falls in the rain!

Mar 2nd, 2014

Real hikers hike in the rain, so we set off on this glorious rainy day to find Trail Canyon Falls. All was well until we made a wrong turn upstream and never found the falls!

Paradise Falls in Wildwood Nature Park

Dec 22nd, 2012

We hiked over to Paradise Fall in Wildwood Regional Park with Omid, Kia, Argos, and I. WE got really really wet!

Havasu Falls

May 24th, 2006

We crossed the Grand Canyon in 2000, so I thought it was time to once again climb down into the canyon, but this time to see Havasu and Mooney Falls. We also searched for hidden Falls. Robin had Plantar Fasciitis and took the mules down giving him the nickname Mule Boy! He is so stubborn that he and Kia got into it as to where Kia would set up HER group tent, then again while hiking to find Hidden Falls, Robin would not give up, and in the middle of nowhere was going to go it alone! We hiked back a bit, sat down for lunch, and within 15 minutes, here comes Robin limping along!
