Waterman Mountain and Twin Peaks Loop

Marv and I wanting to bag another peak in the San Gabriel Mountains, so we turned to our trusty hiking book and settled on Mount Waterman with a possible side trip over to one of the twin peaks. We made it as far as Twin Peaks saddle, then turned around and realized that we had a very aggressive climb to get to the top of Mount Waterman!

We met a couple of guys starting up the trail, the younger of which kept going on about the how many rattle snakes he saw on the trail. He made it sound like they were everywhere. We didn't see one!Let's get this hike started.

The first part of the trail was an agressive uphill, before we transitioned to a long downhill into the saddle.

I love the trees up here, they are so majestic!

This was as far as we made it over to one of the Twin Peaks. As we looked back up at Mount Waterman we decided that we would need every bit of our energy to make it to the top!

To the left you can see the taller of the two Peaks. That would have been a hike to far.

This is what we saw as we turned around at the saddle!

We found this natural spring on the way back up and just about wet everything we had on us.

At this point going back up we were almost as high as Twin Peaks!

We are on the right trail.

The top is in site Marv!

We made it to the top!

We hiked through Waterman summer camp on the way down and these were all over the place.

Check out our video of this amazing hike.
